St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital is a 205-bed facility that offers a wide range of services, caring for inpatients and day patients across a range of specialties including maternity, medical and surgical, rehabilitation and older adult mental health services.
Your role at St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital
The Perioperative Services Department at SJG Mnt Lawley is seeking experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated Registered Nurses with previous scrub/scout orthopaedic experience to join our highly professional theatre nursing team.
SJG Mt Lawley features eight modern operating theatres and two fully equipped procedure rooms, supporting a wide range of surgical specialties. These include orthopaedics, general surgery, urology, ENT, gynaecology, plastics, and endoscopy. With a strong focus on patient safety and innovation-including robotic-assisted surgery-we offer a dynamic and collaborative environment for surgical excellence.
As part of our Perioperative Services team, you will work under the supervision and guidance of the Nurse Manager/Clinical Nurse Specialist, and Clinical Nurse. Your focus will be to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care and support safe and efficient theatre operations.
The role is offered on a full-time, 12-month fixed term basis, working 38 hours per week.
The Position - Registered Nurse Scrub/Scout
- Maintains and develops clinical skills in order to care for patients appropriate to level of competence.
- Delivers a high standard of patient care utilising appropriate resources cost effectively.
- Adheres to and supports hospital policies, procedures and standards.
- Acts as the patient's advocate and facilitate the rights of individuals.
- Participates in a multidisciplinary team approach to patient care through the continuum of care.
- Prioritises workload using resources effectively.
You must hold current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and have a minimum of 2 years' scrub scout experience. Demonstrated proficiency in orthopaedic procedures and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care are essential.
To succeed you will have an ability to work effectively and harmoniously within the multi-disciplinary health care team, with a commitment to ongoing education and professional development.

- Salary: $79,755 to $102,048 per annum, plus 12% superannuation
- Full-time 12-month fixed term position.
