Cooma Challenge, established in 1954, is proud of its history in the Snowy-Monaro region supporting children, young people and adults with disabilities and, more recently, supporting older people. As we have grown over the years, we have maintained our overriding commitment to quality care and services, tailored to the needs of individuals, enabling them to live the life they choose.
We employ around 80 people, including people with disability participating in supported employment, and we deliver services to more than 200 people in our local community.
About the role:
In this role, you will oversee and co-ordinate care and support to individuals living with disability and the frail aged across the Monaro-Snowy Mountains region. You will supervise, lead, and co-ordinate the service delivery teams who provide support across a number of NDIS and Aged Care programs, across multiple locations.
This is a key role operational role within the organisation, with a focus on providing guidance and support to team leaders. You will work closely with your team to ensure delivery of services in line with care plans. A commitment to the development and growth of staff is critical, so this role would suit someone who has an aptitude for coaching and guiding others.
Ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, and funding frameworks is an important aspect of the role. You will also ensure service quality is monitored and areas for improvement addressed.
About you:
You will have:
Considerable experience in the disability, aged care, or health industries in a service delivery leadership, supervisory or co-ordination role.
Tertiary qualifications in a human services field, and (ideally) qualifications in management/leadership.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with strong relationship-building skills.
Solid negotiation skills.
A strong commitment to the inclusion and empowerment of people with disabilities and the frail aged.
Strong leadership and management skills.
Self-management skills to prioritise and manage time effectively, recognise and maintain professional boundaries, and reflect and learn from experience.
Sound working knowledge of NDIS, Aged Care and other Standards, as well as regulatory requirements relating to the sector and employment requirements.
