Your role:
As a Communications Operator or Networks Operator, you’ll ensure the Navy provides effective communication over large distances and is always connected.
Whether you have recently finished school, currently studying, already in the workforce or you have no experience at all, you'll be paid from day one. You'll gain all the skills needed with extensive on-the-job training.
You can choose to apply for one of two roles in the Communications & Networks Operator pathway, Communications Operator or Networks Operator. Whichever role you choose to take on, you'll build a unique skillset and work onboard ships and ashore.
Networks Operator: Manage, operate and maintain advanced ICT networks to protect information and keep your ship connected and secure.
Communications Operator: Be the communications link exchanging sensitive and top-secret information for Navy operations and missions.

Submariner:
There is also the option to specialise as a submariner and be a part of the most exclusive and stable workforce in Australia. You’ll operate the Navy’s sub-surface communication and IT systems and be responsible for making sure that classified information remains secure and is communicated effectively.
Salary:
Upon completion of your initial military and employment training, you’ll enjoy a salary package starting from $87,929 for surface fleet and $97,628 for submariners.

For this role, you must be over 17 at time of enlistment, an Australian Citizen and have passed Year 10 English and Maths.
