The Organisation:

Sharp & Carter are partnering with a National Organisation to help them find a detail-oriented and proactive Cost Controller to join the Finance team on a contract basis.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in monitoring costs, managing inventory, and providing accurate financial insights to support decision-making.

The Responsibilities:

• Monitor manufacturing production, warehouse, and distribution costs.
• Ensure relevant contracts and jobs are set up fully in our internal financial systems, enabling timely invoicing, cost monitoring and report generation.
• Conduct variance analysis between actual costs and budgets/forecasts.
• Coordinate End of Month requirements for projects.
• Review and verify purchase orders.
• Support and analyse pricing decisions.
• Monitor open purchase orders and track order status to ensure timely delivery.
• Provide ad hoc cost review support to the Financial Controller.
• Monitor inventory movements, stock levels, and stock valuation processes.
• Reconcile inventory discrepancies and investigate variances.

Your Skillset:

• Previous experience in cost control, management accounting, or a similar role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to start ASAP.
