About the role

An exciting permanent Part Time role in one of Sydney's leading not-for-profit animal welfare organisations. As a veterinarian within the veterinary team, you will play an integral part in managing the animals within our care to ensure the best possible outcomes are achieved for them. This role will involve:

Performing all aspects of medical and surgical veterinary care

Current veterinary registration in Australia is required for this position

Approaching patient treatment and care with compassion and the use of fear-free techniques to support the animals' welfare

Participation in community education programs, animal welfare events, media, and fundraising campaigns

Collaborate with other departments in an efficient and respectful manner to achieve the best possible outcome for all animals in care

Assist visiting specialists in complex cases

Assisting in veterinary related programs including student, volunteer, and community programs

Valid work visa or Australian work rights are required for this position

Desired skills and experience

Has a passion for companion animal welfare

Strives to provide an exceptional level of patient care

Has at least 2 years experience with a high level of competency in all aspects of medical and surgical veterinary care

Is compassionate and dedicated to achieving the best outcomes for animals

A commitment to or willingness to integrate fear-free handling

A desire to continually promote companion animal welfare through education and support of the community
