Registered Nurse – Care Ambassador – Nurse Next Door (Newcastle)

About the Role

As a Care Ambassador, you will act as both a clinical leader and brand representative. This role is ideal for a Registered Nurse who is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care while mentoring and inspiring others to achieve the same standard. You will:

 Provide clinical leadership, oversight, and guidance to our care team.

 Act as a key advocate for best practice, safety, and quality standards.

 Represent Nurse Next Door Newcastle in professional and community settings, embodying our values and mission.

 Collaborate with management to continuously improve service delivery and client outcomes.

 Support recruitment, training, and ongoing development of care staff.

 Provide excellent clinical care within your scope of practice as a community Registered Nurse.

 Working a fixed two- week roster (Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays including public holidays) with both morning and evening shifts – Permanent Part-Time 24 hours/week – with opportunitiesto increase hours as the business continues to grow.

About You

 Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 3 years recent experience in a clinical setting such as community nursing, residential aged care, or hospital.

 Advanced clinical skills.

Your clinical skills may include:

 Urinary Catheter Care & Insertions – including indwelling and suprapubic catheter management,troubleshooting concerns, and infection prevention.

 PICC Line Care & IV Therapy – safe management of PICC lines, including flushing, dressing changes, and administering IV medications such as antibiotics.

 Complex Wound Care – assessment, debridement (within scope), negative pressure wound therapy, compression therapy, and advanced dressing application.

 Enteral Feeding & Balloon Gastrostomy Care – safe management of PEG/PEJ tubes, balloon checks/replacements, and enteral nutrition administration.

 Medication Administration – including subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, insulin management, and safe handling of high-risk medications in the community setting.

 Vital Signs & Clinical Assessment – strong assessment skills for early identification of deterioration, escalation pathways, and reporting to the Care Designer.

 Palliative & End-of-Life Care – pain and symptom management, and supporting clients and families at home.

 Diabetes Management – blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration, and client education.

 Infection Prevention & Control in the Home Environment – adapting hospital-standard infection control to community settings, including safe sharps disposal, sterile procedures, management of infectious diseases, and client/family education.

Requirements to Apply:
