Eastern VIC Sales Engineer Position
35+ years' established VIC-based provider of heavy duty equipment repair and wear prevention solutions for key Eastern-VIC based markets - e.g. mining, pulp and paper, steel and cement manufacture, wood processing, power generation, etc.
Manage their largest accounts and the continued expansion of their highest-performing territory nationally - with 2x growth potential.
Lucrative, uncapped commission scheme - 1.5% paid on all sales
About the Company
35+ years established, this privately owned Melbourne-based manufacturing and maintenance engineering company specialised in equipment wear prevention / life extension solutions for APAC's engineering industries (e.g. laser cladding, hardfacing, wearplates, HVOC thermal sprays, tungsten carbide coatings, etc.). They're also well known for the manufacture and repair of heavy duty vacuum pumps and rotary valves.
They service key industrial sectors nationally, including: Pulp & Paper, Recycling, Mining & Mineral Processing, Renewable and Sustainable Energies, Concrete & Cement, Steel, Timber & Wood Processing and more.
About the Role
You'll inherit and grow their highest-performing territory nationally - stretching from East of the Hume Hwy in Melbourne Metro out to the NSW border. Key accounts in territory include Australian Paper, AGL Loy Yang, BlueScope Hastings, numerous quarries and mine sites, and more. Significant time will be spent in the Morwell / Traralgon area, where most of these accounts are based.
As Sales Engineer, you'll build strong relationships and collaborate with client-side engineers (e.g. Maintenance Engineers, etc.), becoming their go-to provider for critical equipment repairs, rapid breakdown response and wear prevention & restoration solutions.
Between the growth of existing accounts and untapped opportunities, there's realistic scope to double territory revenues in 2-3 years.
About You
To be a strong fit for this position, you'll bring:
Ideally, 3+ years' Technical Sales experience in a similar field - e.g. repairs and hardfacing; wear parts for mobile and fixed plant equipment; heavy duty pumps and rotary valve repair; etc.
3+ years unrelated Technical Sales experience calling into Eastern VIC-based target markets (e.g. pulp & paper, mining, cement, steel, mineral processing, wood processing, etc.) will also be strongly considered.
A relevant Engineering background and/or previous welding, fitter turner experience is advantageous but not required.
Intangibly, you're accountable, self-motivated and professional - an autonomous operator but enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to succeed. You're hungry to maximise Eastern-VIC sales opportunities whilst contributing to a positive company culture.
On offer, a competitive base salary package with company car and uncapped commissions - with 1.5% paid on all sales, an additional $45K-$75K+ p/year in commissions is realistic based on forecasted growth across the territory.
