The Opportunity
We are looking for an energetic and experienced Retail Supervisor to lead and oversee UQU’s ETC at the UQ St. Lucia campus! ETC is UQU’s one-stop shop for all things Stationery! In this role, you will be responsible for providing hands-on leadership, supervision, and support to the ETC team.
This role involves:
Planning, preparing, and monitoring rosters to meet organisational needs
Ensuring ETC is professionally maintained – internally and externally
Compiling and implementing store specials and promotions
Assisting the Area Manager with the price changes, budget preparation, and ensuring the outlet operates within set budgets
Planning and conducting the monthly stock-take
Stock ordering, rotation, and control
Adhering to the store's GP%
Ensuring the UQU policies and procedures are being followed

We are looking for someone who:
Provides strong leadership, ensuring your team is well supported on a day-to-day basis
Thrives on providing excellent customer service and ensuring efficient operations
Can juggle competing priorities, being able to multitask and effectively plan your day to ensure you are meeting the needs of your team and the outlet
Loves problem-solving and doesn’t shy away from a challenge
Actively seeks feedback to continuously improve themselves, their team, and the business
Understands the ebbs and flows of retail and consumer habits – especially within a university setting, trade peaks during the semester and quietens during the holiday breaks
Understands that our team are our most valuable asset and works every day to foster a brilliant work environment!
In addition to the above, our ideal candidate will have:
A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a retail supervisor (experience in a news agency or stationery store is highly regarded)
Demonstrated ability in:
Recruiting, training, and mentoring staff
POS systems (SwiftPOS experience highly regarded)
Managing GP% and pricing
Working with, and adhering to, set budgets and key targets each year.
