The role
Reporting to the Board of RSPCA Northern Territory, the NT Operations Manager will lead a team of enthusiastic and committed staff, on a full-time basis. The NT Operations Manager is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the organisation, contributing to its financial and organisational sustainability, and developing and managing strong relationships with sponsors and supporters.
You will
Strategically lead and manage the RSPCA Northern Territory’s operations, including shelter and vet clinic functions to achieve positive outcomes for animals of the Top End.
Identify and progress new opportunities for income generation and sponsorship.
Ensure robust financial management practices.
Maintain a high level of understanding of, and compliance with legislative requirements e.g. workplace health and safety.
Collaborate with RSPCA Australia, interstate Member Societies and other stakeholders.
Work closely with the Board of Directors, assisting in the development of strategic and operational plans, and driving the implementation of these.
Staff and volunteer management, including recruitment, ongoing support, and training and development.
Develop a culture of open communication, where continuous improvement is the norm and there is support for change initiatives.
Manage day-to-day issues across the shelter and vet clinic functions.
Work with the Board Treasurer to assist with budget preparation and financial management.
Lead by example – it is the expectation of all staff that they be willing to be involved at ground level in shelter operations.
Your experience
Business minded background, leading operations in a resource constrained environment.
Proven people leadership capability, including engaging staff and volunteer team members and driving performance.
Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work with media, Board Directors and external stakeholders effectively and consistently
Ability to develop and implement local programs to further the objectives of the organisation.
