The Opportunity
We are looking for a proactive and motivated professional with experience in flood risk management, infrastructure planning, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of emergency management principles and community resilience strategies.
In this role, you will play a pivotal part in identifying and addressing the flood resilience needs of East Gippsland communities, working closely with stakeholders to strengthen infrastructure, improve emergency preparedness, and build safer, more connected, and adaptable communities.
In this role you will:
- Identify and assess flood-related assets to address critical gaps in preparedness across flood-prone areas.
- Manage and maintain the corporate Asset Register, ensuring all flood-related assets are accurately recorded and up to date.
- Analyse and report on asset data using the Confirm Asset Management System and SQL database to support informed decision-making.
- Assist in mapping assets and liaise with GIS and Asset System teams to ensure all assets are geospatially represented.
- Support community resilience and emergency preparedness initiatives through planning, evaluation, and collaboration with stakeholders.
Things You’re Proud Of (Key Selection Criteria)
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or significant industry experience, ideally in asset management.
- Demonstrated thorough understanding of current asset management practices and programs.
- Proven experience in using Asset Management Systems, including manipulating databases and tables, and producing reports and dashboards.
- Highly developed data analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to assess civil and structural engineering plans and extract relevant asset information.
- Understanding of some or all of the asset classes managed by local government.
- A current, valid Victorian Driver’s licence.
If successful, you will need to undertake a police check.
