The Opportunity:
- Full-Time | Ongoing contract of employment
- $138,000 per annum pro rata + 12% super + leave loading
- Chadstone Campus – onsite parking with close proximity to public transport
Established in 2023, the Student Recruitment team at Holmesglen is an award-winning support service which provides prospective students with a positive application and enrolment experience. The team is focused on enrolling students in appropriate courses, ensuring quality outcomes, identifying necessary support services, and conducting detailed Pre-Training Reviews (PTR). The Student Recruitment team is the institute's primary contact centre and handles all initial and enrolment related enquiries. The current team strategy, has led to significant achievements, including significantly reducing touchpoints from application-to-enrolment, waiting times and increasing student conversion rates.
The Head of Student Recruitment is a senior leadership position responsible for driving the development and implementation of strategic student recruitment initiatives aligned with Holmesglen’s goals. This role provides leadership across recruitment operations, overseeing staff performance and fostering a high-performance culture centred on delivering exceptional customer service. You also lead the strategic administration of student management systems, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools, and Customer Experience (CX) platforms to enhance the end-to-end student journey. With a strong focus on policy, systems, and people, the role ensures best-practice recruitment processes and embeds a “customer first” ethos to deliver a distinctive and market-leading Holmesglen Experience (HX).
As Head of Student Recruitment, you will:
- Provide effective and strategic leadership to ensure excellent customer service and product advice and to encourage the development of a flexible, responsive and adaptive shared services culture to enhance the student experience.
- Plan and develop proposals for the effective allocation and management of human, physical and financial resources and collect, analyse, and summarise data and trends and provide relevant reports to senior management.
- Provide timely, strategic and high-quality expert advice on a range of policy and procedural matters to the Associate Director to enable fully informed decision making on the delivery of student recruitment strategic objectives.
- The role is responsible for managing and supervising reporting staff across all aspects of their employment. This includes recruiting, selecting, and inducting new team members, as well as preparing annual operational plans to support strong student recruitment outcomes. The position also involves conducting performance reviews, planning relevant professional development activities, and creating a positive working environment that encourages teamwork, trust, and high performance. The goal is to ensure the team delivers professional and effective student recruitment services.
- Develop and manage the Institute administration processes across admissions, enrolment and fees and work closely with the Institute’s senior management to ensure the delivery of associated educational and business outcomes.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Degree and post graduate qualifications in business, business administration or similar field relevant to student enrolment, administration and governance systems. Lesser qualifications may be accepted subject to significant experience gained within a similar operating environment.
- Comprehensive understanding of student administration and enrolment processes within the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector, including in-depth knowledge of compliance requirements, government policy, and legislation. Experienced in developing policies, procedures, and systems related to brand, learner acquisition, and student management.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing professional teams within large, complex, multi-site organisations. Proven ability to manage resources, facilities, and operational plans to achieve high-quality, timely outcomes in fast-paced, results-driven environments, including contact centre operations.
- Advanced capability in managing and utilising Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, student management systems, customer experience platforms, telephony systems, and Microsoft Office applications. Skilled in using database software and administrative systems to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Highly developed stakeholder management skills with the ability to identify stakeholders impacted by decisions and take steps to keep interested parties engaged while managing expectations on outcomes.
- WWCC and Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.
