About the Role
The Public Transport Authority (PTA) is seeking a suitably experienced Coordinator, Transit Support to join the Transperth Train Operations team on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting to the Transit Manager – Administration and Revenue, this is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised individual with proven people management experience in a dynamic operational environment. The role is integral to supporting the Security Services Branch by ensuring that service delivery aligns with operational objectives and business outcomes.
In this position, you will be responsible for:
Managing customer enquiries and complaints related to ticketing and infringements, and overseeing the efficient processing of infringement notices, including system improvements.
Liaising with PTA prosecutions staff and responding to infringement appeals, making decisions on whether to uphold or dismiss them.
Supervising investigations and working with the Fines Enforcement Registry to reduce outstanding and unpaid notices.
Contributing to strategies and policies aimed at reducing fare evasion, and analysing performance data to inform continuous improvement.
Leading and supporting Parking Attendants, resolving parking issues, managing support services expenditure, overseeing contractors, and ensuring appropriate staffing, training, and performance management.
Preparing responses to ministerial and parliamentary questions and providing general administrative support to the branch.
This role has 13 direct reports and serves as the central escalation point for support services matters—offering an exciting opportunity to lead a committed team, influence key operational outcomes, and make a real impact across the network.
About You
To excel in this role, you should possess:
Extensive experience managing administrative teams, delivering high-quality support, and handling enforcement related to fare evasion, parking, and relevant PTA regulations.
Strong numeracy skills, experience with financial processes and statistics, and a solid understanding of the Rules of Evidence and courtroom procedures.
Strong leadership skills with experience supporting and managing teams, including in high-pressure or conflict situations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in team development, modern customer service practices, and conflict resolution.
Well-developed problem-solving and analytical abilities, combined with effective organisational skills to prioritise and manage tasks efficiently.
