About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Council and Community Services Manager to join the Groote Archipelago Regional Council. In this full-time role based in Milyakburra, NT, you will play a pivotal role in managing the delivery of key council and community services across the region.

What you'll be doing

Oversee the provision of essential council services including waste management, public infrastructure maintenance, and community facilities management.

Lead the planning and coordination of community development initiatives, working closely with local stakeholders.

Supervise and lead a team of council staff, providing guidance, support and opportunities for professional development.

Ensure all council operations are compliant with relevant legislation, regulations and internal policies.

Contribute to the strategic direction of the council, identifying opportunities for improvement and growth.

Foster strong relationships with community members, government agencies and other key partners.

What we're looking for

Experience in local service delivery, administration, or operations, ideally within Local Government or community services.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with staff, stakeholders, and community members.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs to support efficient and accurate service delivery.

A genuine commitment to positive community outcomes, with respect for Aboriginal cultures and the ability to work in a culturally sensitive way.
