The Role

Are you a qualified and experienced Electrician looking for a career change? Join our Council team and play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient operation of water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, reservoirs, and other essential assets.

As an Electrician, you will perform a variety of electrical, communications, and process control equipment maintenance tasks that support the community’s water services. You’ll work on general electrical installations, programming PLC/SCADA systems, fault finding, and maintaining communication networks—all while upholding the highest safety and quality standards.

In this position, you will manage your time effectively and assist with planning, setting priorities, and organising work to meet expectations and deadlines and deliver high-quality customer service.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Trade qualifications to operate as a Licenced Electrician in Queensland;

To reach a C7 classification level you will need additional post trade training, which may include a Certificate IV in Engineering or 60% completion of Diploma of Engineering, or the ability to complete a competency assessment to demonstrate equivalent skills;

Low Voltage Switchboard Resuscitation and CPR;

Construction Industry Induction (White Card), or the ability to obtain; and

Possess and maintain a current motor vehicle driver licence.
