The Role

As our Trainer and Assessor, you will design and deliver engaging, competency-based training to school-based learners across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and occasional regional schools. You will support students through hands-on workshops, on-the-job simulations, and structured assessment, ensuring compliance with national VET standards and school requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate hospitality and tourism training sessions for VETiS students for both face to face and online students.

• Conduct valid, reliable assessments against unit requirements and performance criteria.

• Develop learner resources and session plans aligned to the Training Package.

• Travel to partner schools—typically multiple sites per week across Brisbane and Gold Coast, with periodic regional visits.

• Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain comprehensive records.

• Liaise with school coordinators, students and RTO compliance teams.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of training materials and assessment tools.

Selection Criteria

• Hold a TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

• Possess relevant hospitality and/or tourism vocational qualifications, SIT20122 Certificate II in Tourism or SIT20322 Certificate II in Hospitality as a minimum.

• Minimum two years’ experience as a VET Trainer/Assessor in a school or RTO environment.

• Demonstrated ability to engage school-based learners and adapt delivery to diverse needs.

• Current Queensland Blue Card (or ability to obtain).

• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel daily between sites.

• Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
