- Competitive pro rata remuneration package based on full-time equivalent value up to $776,126 p.a.
- Base salary ranges between $182,106 and $266,677 p.a. (L13-L27) (Paid pro-rata for engagement period or part time employee)
- 5 weeks annual recreational leave accumulation with 17.5% loading when taken.

Normanton is a small community situated on the banks of the Norman River in the Gulf of Carpentaria. Fishing and prawning industries are the mainstay of the area, along with tourism. The Traditional Owners of the Normanton area are the Gkuthaarn, Kukatj, and Kurtijar peoples.
About the role
The successful applicant will work at the Normanton Hospital as a Senior Medical Officer, providing clinical care to patients with a multidisciplinary team. Manage the administrative requirements of patient care including ensuring discharge summaries and medico-legal correspondence is completed with minimal delay.
Requirements
- Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.
- Hold current unconditional registration or eligibility for unconditional registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Possession of a Fellowship in General Practice (FACCRM or FRACGP/FRACGP-RG/FARGP). A “Rural Generalist” qualification (FACRRM, FARGP or FRACGP-RG) is highly regarded.
- Appointment as a Rural Generalist SMO (Level 18 to Level 27) will require one or more of the following advanced skills as specified by the Colleges: Adult Internal Medicine, Paediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Remote Medicine, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health, Mental Health, Palliative Care, Small Town General Practice, Population Health, Academic Practice, with Anaesthetics or Obstetrics considered.
- C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
- Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
- This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
- A period of probation may apply.
