Protech are currently seeking Field Officers to work from the Burleigh depot with the Fire Ant Program through Biosecurity Queensland.

This is an ongoing position and will require thorough and effective surveillance and treatment of insect pests through Southern Queensland.

Spend your day outside working with a great team, and become a key part of the Biosecurity Queensland goal to keep our area safe from invasive species. If you enjoy Hiking or Bushwalking recreationally this is the job for you!

About the role:

• Long term, ongoing roles
• Great pay rates- $34 + per hour
• 9 day fortnight
• Immediate start available
• Uniform, PPE and vehicle during work hours provided

Key Responsibilities:

• Visual surveillance and bait treatment for insects
• Daily reporting tasks, data collection and record keeping
• Driving Company vehicle
• Working within a team to search for and treat active fire ants

Mandatory Position Requirements:

• Open car licence
• Ability to work in a team environment
• MUST have previous outdoor work experience in Landscaping, Agricultural, Arboriculture, Land Management and Conservation, Civil, Ecology
• Face to Face customer service experience
• Must be physically fit as the role requires substantial walking through challenging terrain up to 10 - 15 km per day
• Pass a drug and alcohol screen
• Must be able to complete and pass a Police check
