About Us

Gecko Contracting is a Turf & Landscape Maintenance and Construction business based in Bibra Lake, south of the river. Our team comprises a wide range of skilled employees dedicated to helping our customers achieve their desired results. Over the past few years, we have experienced rapid growth in both our maintenance and construction divisions, and we are involved in many exciting and diverse projects within the Perth Metro area, including verge and park maintenance, streetscape maintenance, playground construction, and new school developments.

Position: Horticulture Trainee

Location: Bibra Lake, Perth Metro Area

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: $49,400 per annum plus superannuation, with yearly increases as you progress through your traineeship.

What you'll be doing

Assisting with the installation and maintenance of gardens, lawns, and landscaping;

Performing routine tasks such as mowing, edging, pruning, mulching, and weeding;

Identifying and treating plant diseases and pests;

Maintaining and operating gardening equipment and tools;

Completing training and obtaining relevant qualifications in horticulture; and

Collaborating with the team to ensure the delivery of high-quality landscaping services.

What we're looking for

Current drivers license;

Construction White Card;

An interest and enthusiasm for horticulture, gardening, or landscaping;

A willingness to learn and take on hands-on training;

Good physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions;

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards; and

Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
