A bit about the role
Contribute to the implementation of Councils strategic planning framework and Casey’s appeal as a desirable place to live, invest and do business.
Provide quality and timely advice to Council, the community and stakeholders on growth area planning in Casey.
What you’ll deliver
- Contribute to an integrated approach within the Planning Department.
- Advise senior leadership on statutory planning issues as needed.
- Draft Committee and Council reports, and reports on delegated matters.
- Investigate, inspect, report, and process planning applications, including complex issues.
- Prepare appeal and panel submissions; represent Council at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal and panel hearings.
- Assist in preparing, monitoring, and reviewing Council policies.
- Draft correspondence related to reports and inquiries.
- Represent Council at functions, meetings, and seminars, including outside normal working hours.
What you’ll bring
- Degree or Diploma in Town Planning, Urban Studies, Urban Geography or similar.
- Experience as a Town Planner, preferably with Local Government experience.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check & Eligibility to Work check.
