What can we offer you?
$100,776.00 - $105,340.56 base salary (SCHADS Level 5) + super + salary packaging options – increase your take home pay by 6 to 12% through our not-for-profit charity status!

About the role
The Housing Development Officer plays a pivotal role in identifying and securing suitable housing options for participants in the WorkPlace program.
WorkPlace is a post release support program for men leaving custody. The program provides 12-week transitional accommodation and wrap around support services with a focus on assisting Participants to transition to suitable longer-term accommodation and employment. This initiative directly supports the OARS CT Reintegration Accommodation Service Division, contributing to reduced rates of re-offending and improved community reintegration outcomes.
This role works in collaboration with Participants, Reintegration Specialists, and other supports to identify needs, goals and barriers in relation to sustainable accommodation outcomes, and pro-actively pursuing opportunities to reduce the burden on social housing. You will take a role in supporting and mentoring Participants with realistic housing options and outcomes to support their journey into the community.

About you
To ensure success in this role, you'll bring:
Experience in delivering proactive engagement and development strategies with key stakeholders and bodies, such as the private rental markets, SA Housing Trust, Community Housing associations and other relevant housing providers.
The ability to identify and pursue opportunities to access and grow the available property portfolio across the private rental market, government agencies, and non-government sectors.
Strategic and informed advice regarding current housing options and accessibility across sectors, supporting strategic decision-making.
Skills in advocating for participants and negotiate with potential landlords to secure appropriate housing solutions.
A current driver's licence.
National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
Ability to work between 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work where required to meet site needs (compensated accordingly).
Ability to work within correctional facilities.
