The Package: $81,268.20 - $89,799.32 gross per annum + 12% super. (Evaluated as Grade 11 of the QPRC Salary System 2025).

Ready to hit the road with purpose? QPRC is on the lookout for a proactive and experienced individual to help operate the South-East Weight of Loads (SEWOL) service across the region. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in protecting vital infrastructure by ensuring heavy vehicles comply with statutory loading requirements.

In this role you will:

Monitor and inspect heavy vehicles on council and state roads to ensure compliance with load limits.

Identify overloaded vehicles on public roads and weight-limited bridges across Queanbeyan-Palerang and surrounding Council areas.

Implement procedures within the heavy vehicle industry to support compliance and reduce road wear.

Travel regularly in blocks of 2 nights/3 days per week (travel allowances provided).

We are looking for someone who:

Brings strong time management, accurate record keeping, and confident communication skills, especially in compliance and conflict de-escalation.

Has experience in the transport industry, particularly with truck configurations and NSW weight limits, including B Double and Road Train Route restrictions.

Is a reliable team player, willing to undertake NHVR training provided by Council.
