The Onset

Lead the banking and financial services strategy and shape AI-driven transformation.
With a hybrid-first setup, you’ll have full control over your schedule, balancing client demands with time in the Surry Hills office whenever it suits you. You’ll own the BFSI agenda, working directly with CxO clients to drive AI adoption across banking, insurance, superannuation and wealth management.
Here you’ll build long-term, high-value consulting engagements worth $2–3M annually. You’ll steer clients through complex AI transformations, not just deliver recommendations. That means stronger relationships, bigger influence and a clear path to executive leadership.
The AI Practice is part of a portfolio of leading digital and data businesses, offering cross-functional collaboration and career-expanding opportunities beyond just one team. With low bureaucracy and full commercial accountability, your decisions will shape outcomes directly, and your leadership runway will extend into broader BFSI or executive roles.
What you'll do
You'll lead senior conversations with BFSI executives, translating regulatory, operational and customer challenges into AI-enabled roadmaps. You’ll collaborate with technologists, data scientists and delivery leaders internally to ensure strategies are practical and implemented at pace.
With 50% utilisation, you’ll have time to focus on high-impact work — deal origination, commercial strategy and sector leadership. You’ll work closely with a seasoned transformation executive to balance delivery while you focus on client strategy and commercial outcomes. You’ll also play a key succession position in the leadership team, helping shape long-term growth of the practice.
What you'll need
- Consulting pedigree – trained at Big Four, MBB or a boutique, with BFSI transformation experience
- Sector expertise – deep knowledge of banking, insurance, superannuation and wealth
- Commercial track record – proven ability to shape and close multi-million-dollar consulting deals
- Strategic problem-solver – able to create AI and data-led strategies from ambiguous briefs
- Executive presence – gravitas to operate at board and CxO level
- Innovator – fluent in modern professional services models where AI + consulting = outcomes
