Kambu Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation for Health (Kambu Health) is a not-for-profit community owned health, human services and education organisation delivering on the unique health and wellbeing needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Ipswich and west Moreton region. We provide primary, allied and specialist health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. About the role
$75,000 per annum plus 12% superannuation and leave loading
12-month fixed term

Two (2) roles available
The Youth Cultural Mentoring Program provides First Nation young people (10-17 years of age) the opportunity to access culturally safe and responsive activities that focus on reducing the individual’s at-risk behaviours; preventing and diverting further contact with the youth justice system.
As the Youth Cultural Mentoring Program Support Officer you will create, develop and implement activities that meet the needs of young people accessing the program, whilst maintaining service guidelines, in accordance with Service Agreements. Activities may also be identified through community consultations and input from local services.
You will work closely with Kambu Health programs and services to ensure holistic supports are available and the needs of the young person are identified and met. This will be achieved through a case management framework.
Within this role, you will also be required to:
Develop case plans, follow case goals and plan as directed to deliver outcomes. In addition, undertaking regular needs analysis and case reviews to identify and document trends and overarching issues requiring support and/or strategic intervention.
Develop and maintain good working knowledge and relationships with relevant key stakeholders within our service areas to enhance program delivery.
Implement principles to and strategies to role model, mentor and teach young people necessary life skills.
Plan and deliver recreational and skills-based programs (e.g., sports, arts, life skills etc.).
Engage with and take on other responsibilities, commensurate with the Youth Cultural Mentoring Program role, which contribute to the overall objectives of the Youth Cultural Mentoring Program and Kambu Health - wide goals, aspirations, and targets.
Comply with relevant legislation and Kambu Health policies and procedures, including equity and health & safety and exhibit good practice in relation to same.
Any other reasonable duties as directed by the Youth Cultural Mentoring Program Manager within known skills, knowledge, and capabilities.
About the successful applicant
To be successful in this role, you will:
A First Nations Man or Woman
Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a similar related role.
A current Blue Card.
Ability to gain a suitable criminal history check.
Current C Class Driver’s License (QLD).
Demonstrate proficiency in the use of business technology and desktop applications, including Microsoft Office Packages.
Possess well-developed communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to interact positively with a wide variety of stakeholders with a professional manner.
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work with vulnerable client groups, including an understanding of the holistic needs of the client, their family, and their community.
