The Role
We’re looking for a confident, relationship-driven Account Manager to manage an existing portfolio of loyal SME clients. The role is hands-on and involves regular phone and email communication with clients, working to deliver outstanding service across renewals, endorsements, upselling, cross-selling, and claims assistance.
You’ll play a key role in retaining and growing accounts while being supported by a professional team across the broader Maclean Group.
Key Responsibilities
Service an existing portfolio of SME clients from a wide range of industries
Handle renewals, mid-term endorsements, and ongoing policy maintenance
Client-facing role - Communicate directly with clients via phone, email, and meetings to understand and meet their needs
Proactively identify and action cross-sell and up-sell opportunities
Provide support and guidance on claims, liaising with insurers as needed
Maintain accurate records, compliance, and quality service standards
Collaborate with other Maclean Group divisions (finance and accounting) for holistic client support
What You’ll Bring
Minimum 3 years' experience in general insurance broking, with SME experience preferred
Tier 1 or Tier 2 Insurance Broking qualification (Tier 1 preferred)
You must be an Authorised Representative (AR) or eligible to become one
Strong SME product knowledge across: Business Packs, Liability, Cyber, PI, D&O, Commercial Motor etc
Excellent verbal and written communication skills—comfortable speaking with clients by phone and email
Ability to build and maintain strong, professional client relationships
Familiarity with the industry platform Insight, is an advantage
What We Offer
$100,000 – $130,000 base salary + Super + Performance-Based Commissions
