About Us

Conry Tech is reinventing air-conditioning to improve comfort and efficiency through a hyper-efficient technology we've developed and patented—the BullAnt. We aim to decarbonise the built environment and make air-conditioning more sustainable, designing and manufacturing a globally leading product here in Melbourne, Australia.

We are venture-backed and founded by serial entrepreneurs who previously invented and grew breakthrough HVAC technologies from concept to globally leading companies that revolutionised the industry. We're growing our small, experienced team with like-minded innovators who are willing to ask great questions, wear many hats, and want to build this disruptive technology with us. With air-conditioning a major contributor to global emissions (around 15%), we're accelerating development to bring our sustainable comfort solution to market much faster.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a versatile, driven Senior Electronics Engineer to help take the BullAnt from advanced prototype into field trials and early manufacturing. You'll develop and optimise the electronics and hardware architecture for BullAnt and its peripheral systems, owning motor-drive and power-electronics design end to end—requirements, schematic and layout, board bring-up, test, iteration, and pre-compliance.

From specifying and designing PCBs and power conversion/motor inverter hardware, to developing high-speed motor controls, through to system-level integration and validation, you'll ensure our electronics are efficient, robust, and ready to ship. This is a hands-on role in a collaborative team, working closely with firmware and controls, with the autonomy and accountability to turn a world-class design into a market-leading product, and share in the company's upside as the product succeeds.

Key Responsibilities

Hardware and Electronics Design: End-to-end ownership of PCB designs, including requirements, architecture, schematic capture, layout, board bring-up, validation, and documentation, applying DFM/DFA and driving reliability and functional testing.

Testing and Validation: Plan and execute rigorous bench and environmental testing (incl. HALT/HASS where appropriate), troubleshoot complex issues, and implement robust fixes. Support firmware during hardware bring-up and debug.

Hands-on lab work: Fine-pitch PCB rework under microscope, prototype soldering, wire-harness design and assembly, board bring-up and testing with oscilloscopes and logic analysers, systematic fault-finding to component level, and safe probing on live/high-voltage hardware.

Systems Integration: Collaborate across firmware, controls, and mechanical engineering to deliver cohesive, low-noise, high-performance solutions for energy-efficient HVAC.

Compliance & EMC: Lead pre-compliance checks (EMC/EMI, ESD, surge, EFT), maintain lab procedures, and work toward RCM for Australia (e.g., CISPR 11/32, IEC 61000 families).

Innovative Problem Solving: Identify risks early, propose and carry out pragmatic experiments, and help the team overcome any hurdles to accelerate our development from prototype to world-leading product.

What You'll Bring

Technical Expertise:

Degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) and 5+ years in electronics design across analog, digital, and PCB layout.

Knowledge of basic control theory, including sensor bandwidth and filtering.

Hands-on experience in debugging firmware–hardware interfaces with oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and serial tools.

Knowledge and experience in designing for environments (temperature, humidity, vibration) and communications (RS-485, CAN, UART, SPI), with strong grounding in EMC/EMI, ESD, noise, and transients.

Familiarity with embedded firmware, microcontrollers and their peripherals

High-voltage lab discipline (ESD, safe probing, basic lockout/tagout)

Software:

Experienced with Altium Designer, and MATLAB.

Skilled with Python for data analysis, test automation, and system integration.

Collaboration and Leadership:

Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and provide technical leadership in complex projects.

Strong communication skills to articulate technical ideas and guide decision-making.

Problem-Solving Mindset:

A proactive, self-starting attitude with a passion for tackling challenges and creating solutions.

Experience optimising systems for cost and performance, with a focus on cohesive, integrated designs.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with TI microcontrollers (e.g., C2000)

Knowledge of switching power electronics, high speed PMSM motor drives, and motor control systems.

Familiarity with CISPR and IEC 61000 standards and practical methods to debug and remedy EMC/EMI issues.

Experience with high voltage power semiconductor selection (IGBTs, Si/SiC/GaN MOSFETs), and low noise layouts.

Understanding of power converter topologies, both theory and practical design

Experience taking boards to pre-compliance and closing out issues.

Why Join Conry Tech?

Innovative Mission: Help reinvent air-conditioning to cut energy use and emissions while making buildings more comfortable.

Dynamic Environment: Create, experiment, innovate and iterate in a fast, collaborative team where ideas become hardware and no two weeks look the same.

Share the Upside: Participate in the company's growth through an ESOP (Employee Share Option Plan).

Autonomy with Support: Lead work that ships, with clear scope, trust, and a collaborative team at your back.

Career Growth: Be stretched through ongoing innovation, learning new tools and practices as you go, taking on responsibilities and challenges that will grow you as an engineer and a leader.

Make an Impact: See your work move from prototype to pilots to market rollout, take pride as customers feel the difference, and help revolutionise an industry.

Must have Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work rights for Australia
