Our client is a Dynamic, Creative, and Collaborative Studio with locations in Melbourne and Brisbane. They are committed to fostering an engaging, supportive, and growth-focused work environment. As the business continues to grow, they are seeking a proactive and solutions-oriented People & Culture Generalist to join the team and support talented staff across both studios.
This Part-Time 3-4 Days Per Week standalone P&C Generalist position is a hands-on, end-to-end HR role supporting all aspects of the employee lifecycle. You’ll be the go-to HR expert for managers and staff, providing practical advice, elevating internal processes, and ensuring compliance with Australian employment laws.
This Part-Time role, is ideal for someone self-motivated, strategic, and eager to make a tangible impact on our culture and business practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for all P&C matters across both studios, offering timely and practical solutions.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding: write position descriptions, advertise roles, coordinate interviews, prepare contracts, and conduct exit interviews.
- Maintain and administer P&C policies, procedures, and records in line with legislation and best practice.
- Support employee relations, performance management, and conflict resolution processes.
- Coordinate performance reviews, learning and development initiatives, and employee engagement activities.
- Monitor P&C metrics and trends, recommending process improvements to elevate internal practices.
- Ensure accurate and confidential P&C records, including future HRIS implementation.
- Support workplace health and safety compliance and initiatives.
- Lead Work Health and Safety (WHS) strategies, including risk management reviews.
- Assist in planning and managing training programs to meet organisational and employee development needs.
What We’re Looking For:
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, or related field (preferred).
- 3–5 years’ experience in a generalist HR or HR role.
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment law and contemporary P&C practices.
- Experience in creative, professional services, or studio-based environments (desirable).
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, negotiation, and active listening skills.
- Solutions-focused mindset, self-motivated, and hands-on.
