MEGA Resources is a mine owner with an in-house service team, with two operating gold mines in Western Australia. MEGA stands for Mining, Engineering and Geology in Australia.

MEGA Resources is seeking a proactive team player with a positive, can-do attitude who thrives in a fast-paced, high-production environment. As a Pit Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the mine geology team in day-to-day pit operations. Working closely with our geologists, you will be responsible for collecting, recording and maintaining high-quality geological data to assist in grade control and orebody definition for a gold mining operation.

Key Responsibilities

Perform field-based geological sampling and logging in active mining pits (e.g. grab, chip, and blast hole sampling).

Mark up ore zones, boundaries and geological features in the pit.

Assist geologists with grade control programs, including blast hole logging and sampling.

Ensure accurate and timely collection and entry of geological data into company database.

Conduct field checks of geological interpretations and assist with mapping.

Manage and maintain sampling equipment and materials.

Monitor sample quality and ensure compliance with QAQC protocols.

Assisting with updating and editing current work procedures

Strong focus on safety

Communicate effectively with mining and processing teams regarding ore and waste delineation.

About You

Previous experience in a similar role within mining or exploration (preferred)

Willingness to learn basic geological concepts and mining processes.

Competent with field equipment and sampling procedures.

Strong attention to detail and meticulous data recording habits.

Proficiency in mining and geology software is desirable, particularly with Microsoft Excel and Access Database.

Proactive team player with a positive, can-do attitude

Manual Driver’s Licence (essential).

Roster: 8:6 (8 days on, 6 days off, 7 nights on, 6 days off rotation)

Contract: Permanent Full-Time

Work Location: Mt Celia and Rama Gold Mines

Salary: $85k - $105k (dependent on experience level)
