Production Estimator

Avia Homes is a young dynamic team who is seeking a Production Estimator, who has a positive can-do attitude, on a full-time ongoing basis.

Key responsibilities:

Oversee the Development of Master Bill of Quantities including using Databuild to create accurate Recipes.

Collaborate with the Onsite Team and Internal stake holders to refine Estimates and Manage onsite issues.

Work alongside the Masters Drafting team to ensure integration and optimization of all software within Avia Homes.

Review current estimating processes and develop new strategies to improve accuracy, reduce costs, and align with overall company objectives.

Set deadlines, establish goals, and define production standards to maintain consistency and efficiency within the Estimating department

Work closely with the Operations Manager and Building Manager to ensure all Bill of Quantities meet quality standards and the Scope of Works provided contains necessary details for project execution

Analyse data, review Bills of Quantities and Cost Movements, to ensure project feasibility while maintaining compliance with industry standard.

Develop and refine estimating standards, processes, and templates to ensure alignment with changing business needs and industry practices.

Analyse historical project data and market trends to forecast costs, identify potential risks, and provide accurate, competitive estimates.

Establish and continuously refine best practices to improve efficiency, accuracy, and alignment with evolving business needs

Manage and update cost databases to ensure accurate, up-to-date pricing for materials, labor, and subcontractors.

Track and monitor project variations, identifying opportunities to standardize options and reduce the need for custom estimates.

Work with the Procurement and Design teams to review changes in project specifications and ensure consistency across all estimates and documentation.

Collaborate with the senior leadership team to continuously improve estimating practices and contribute to business growth and profitability.

Ideally, we are looking for someone who has:

A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in residential estimating.

Strong proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Buildertrend, CostX, Procore, etc.) and advanced Excel skills.

Strong understanding of residential construction processes, materials, and industry standards.

Proven ability to analyse data and trends to produce accurate cost estimates and project budgets.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members, clients, and other stakeholders.

Demonstrated expertise in problem-solving, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and leading teams in a fast-paced environment.

A keen attention to detail, with a focus on continuous improvement and a passion for high-quality results.
