We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Remedial Engineer/Consultant to join our client’s vibrant consultancy in Sydney. This pivotal role involves leading diagnostic inspections, preparing detailed expert reports, and serving as an expert witness in legal proceedings related to building defects. What will you be doing?
- You will be the primary consultant on a portfolio of projects, with a strong focus on litigation cases.
- Your core duties will include conducting meticulous onsite diagnostic inspections and forensic investigations to identify building defects.
- You will prepare detailed Expert Reports to be used in legal proceedings.
- Serve as an expert witness in court when builders dispute claims.
- You will also manage contract administration for remedial work and liaise directly with clients and legal teams to provide professional advice.
What do you need?
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Remedial Building or Engineering Consultant.
- Proven experience as an expert witness in litigation cases.
- Strong understanding of Australian Standards, NCC, and Home Building regulations.
- Highly self-motivated and independent professional who takes full ownership of their work.
- A valid driver’s license and physical fitness to access all areas of a building are essential.
