About the Role
We have a very exciting opportunity for a Social Work Industry Facilitator to join the College of Education, Psychology and Social Work at Flinders University. This position, which will support the National Mental Health Pathways to Practice Pilot, will require the successful candidate to oversee and supervise the facilitation of student placements across the mental health sector.

As well as providing innovative and inspiring teaching to Social Work students, the Social Work Industry Facilitator will explore new partnerships to help build capacity for the increasing number of placements required by the University and the sector more broadly.

Some of the responsibilities of this position will include:

  • Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders, including the MHPPP team, Course Coordinators, WIL team and across-disciplines to identify, develop and enact placement relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Working collaboratively with agencies and service providers in South Australia and the Northern Territory to identify challenges and design creative yet robust solutions for placement opportunities and workforce development.
  • Contributing to the planning, evaluation and student placement assessment of these topics, undertaking the role of Topic Coordinator as required.

About You
To be successful, you will have completed a PhD and/or have qualifications and equivalent professional experience in an area relevant to Social Work. The successful candidate will also hold, or be eligible for, membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, with a minimum of five years (FTE) of post-qualifying experience in the mental health sector.

Some of the key position capabilities for this position include:

  • Experience of significant teaching and learning experience and excellence at a tertiary level, including curriculum design and field education.
  • Evidence of use of learning and teaching approaches which enhance student success.
  • Demonstrated experience or capability to engage with students and evaluate student placement outcomes via online learning platforms.
