Join our Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit Team as a Social Worker!
As a member of the MHRU multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialist clinical social work rehabilitation services to consumers. You will use your expertise to create individualized rehabilitation plans in collaboration with the consumer, their family, and other team members, with the goal of helping consumers recover and enhance their lives within the MHRU and the wider community.
The Social Worker carries a clinical caseload and is responsible for a range of clinical activities, including rehabilitation planning, group facilitation, and social work-specific assessments and interventions. You will also provide direction, supervision, and support for Social Work students and Rehabilitation Support Workers.
About the role:
Duties for the role will include:
- Utilising Social Work expertise and discipline-specific skills, such as family work, holistic practices, and problem-solving, to maximize individuals' and communities' recovery journeys.
- Assisting consumers in developing daily activities and structures to improve independent living skills by accessing appropriate leisure, vocational, and educational resources.
- Working collaboratively and seamlessly with mental health and other service providers to facilitate positive rehabilitation and recovery opportunities through integrated care planning.
- Working assertively with families and carers by ensuring their input is recognized, their needs are addressed, and by offering opportunities to be involved in program planning.
About you:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
- Extensive experience working within a mental health setting.
- Skills in undertaking a comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessment, including risk assessments of consumers with high or complex needs.
- Advanced ability in the planning, coordination, and implementation of comprehensive care/service plans.
