We’re looking for health professionals to join us as we open a new, state-of-the-art Mental Health Rehabilitation Service (MHRS) at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (TQEH).

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse at the CALHN MHRS, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, recovery-oriented care to consumers. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will provide direct nursing care, individual case management, and support consumers in developing independence, skills, and social inclusion. This role offers the opportunity to consolidate and expand your professional practice while contributing to a new and innovative service. You will also engage in education, counselling, and group work to support consumer recovery, working collaboratively with professional disciplines and community organisations to achieve the best possible outcomes.

About You

You are a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse with a passion for mental health rehabilitation and consumer-centred care. With strong clinical skills and a commitment to best-practice recovery principles, you thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment and are eager to make a meaningful impact on consumer outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Registered and qualified – You are registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia and hold a qualification in mental health nursing equivalent to a Graduate Diploma.
  • Clinical expertise – You have demonstrated competence in mental health nursing, including assessment, care planning, therapeutic interventions, and group facilitation.
  • Strong communication and teamwork – You excel in collaboration, working effectively with consumers, carers, and community services, while maintaining clear and professional communication.
  • Commitment to quality care – You have a thorough understanding of recovery frameworks, clinical rehabilitation principles, and contemporary mental health nursing practices.
