The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.
The Organisational Development Team’s primary focus is to assist IUIH meet its strategic objective of expanding and maintaining a competent and enabled health workforce. With IUIH experiencing significant workforce growth over the last decade the focus is on development, management and implementation of frameworks and programs to increase Indigenous workforce participation, build required workforce skill sets, train existing staff to maximise opportunities for business development and quality of care, build workforce pathways, and create and nurture an innovative, inclusive, reflective and respectful environment built on Aboriginal Ways.
About the Role?
The position will work collaboratively with the Organisational Development team to support the growth and development of IUIH Network staff (particularly those in administrative roles). The role will design and deliver contextualised training for administrative roles with an alignment to accredited units of training.
Within this role, you will:
- Develop on-the-job delivery of training contextualised for IUIH staff needs, e.g. Reception Skill Set training, at-elbow site visits, trainee sessions through Pathways Our Way Academy (POWA).
- Conduct regular clinic/site visits across the IUIH Network to map and gather themes on required ‘hot topics’ for administrative staff.
- Help inform the design of contextualised training that may be required for the Administration Development Pathway.
- Deliver accredited training, where appropriate within scope of practice, and approved Trainer Profile through EMPOWA.
- Assist in mapping contextualised training to required accreditation standards such as VET training package/s or other accreditation bodies as required, specific to own scope of practice.
About You?
- Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)
- Current Criminal History Check
- Current QLD Blue Card – required prior to your commencement
- A qualification in Certificate III Business or higher
- 3-5+ years medical reception experience
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116)
- Ability to travel across South East Queensland (SEQ)
Desirable, but not mandatory:
- Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
- Use of health record system, particularly MMeX
