Your next career opportunity
As an Events Coordinator at the Doherty Institute, you'll have the opportunity to manage a wide range of high-profile events that have Institute-wide relevance. You'll work within a high-performing Operations team, collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver successful corporate events, seminars, symposiums, and workshops. This role offers you the chance to develop your event management skills in a dynamic scientific environment, contributing directly to the Institute's mission.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage Event Logistics: Coordinate venue bookings, venue hire, and establish relationships with key external venues.
- Develop Comprehensive Event Plans: Create detailed project plans including presenter information, run sheets, AV requirements, and catering needs.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with the Communications team and other departments to ensure smooth event execution and promotion.
- Oversee Event Operations: Manage day-of-event operations, ensuring successful delivery in line with project plans and budgets.

You are a proactive and detail-oriented event management professional with strong communication skills, able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment.
You may also:
- Have a degree or relevant diploma with experience in event management.
- Possess strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrate excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail.
- Be able to prioritise workload effectively and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Have creative problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.
- Show adaptability in managing various event types and scales.
