Dubbo Regional Aboriginal Health Service (DRAHS) is seeking an enthusiastic person to fill the position of Aboriginal Health Practitioner (AHP). This role will work closely with the clinical team in the delivery of primary health care.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioners play a vital role in the primary health workforce. They provide clinical and primary health care for individuals, families and community groups. They deal with patients, clients and visitors to hospitals and health clinics. They also assist in arranging, coordinating and providing health care within the Dubbo Community. The Aboriginal Health Practitioner will undergo continuous training to fulfil this role.

Key Selection Criteria
Identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander with ability to provide proof of Aboriginality (mandatory),
AQTF Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander primary health care practice (or currently studying),
Demonstrated ability to conduct 715 health assessments and knowledge of chronic disease management,
Knowledge and experience using Best Practice appointment system, or willingness to learn,
Demonstrates a commitment to the CAHS code of conduct, equal employment opportunity, work health & safety and cultural safety framework
Current nationally coordinated criminal history check, NSW working with children’s check and unrestricted class C or P2 driver’s licence

Proof of vaccination must be provided upon acceptance of appointment.
