Downer Professional Services is comprised of two business units, our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer, a major service partner to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security.

We currently have an opportunity for a Project Support Officer in Canberra to work on MIWS projects.

What You'll Do

This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including:

• Coordinate contract management and funding approvals (S23, ETPs) under direction of the SEA4000 Deputy Director

• Provide financial and budgeting support in collaboration with the Project Finance Lead and key stakeholders

• Deliver surge support across project documentation, reporting, and committee submissions as directed by the Executive

• Manage executive-level coordination including inbox triage, HoG tasking, and Objective structure administration

• Support project teams and leadership with issue escalation, compliance interpretation, and functional assistance across Data, Risk, FIC, and Events

What You'll Bring [Key skills and qualifications]

• Project & Contract Management - Experience with Defence approvals (S23, ETPs) and procurement processes

• Financial & Budgeting Support - Ability to interpret financial data and assist with budgeting queries

• Executive & Administrative Coordination - Skilled in inbox triage, task tracking, and Objective system management

• Communication & Documentation - Strong writing skills for briefs, reports, and committee submissions

• Compliance & Analytical Thinking - Understanding of Defence policies and ability to apply regulatory frameworks

Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
