About the Role

We're recruiting for a skilled Vacuum Truck (Vac Truck) Operator to join a well-established civil and construction services provider operating across Sydney Metro. Your role will be at the forefront of hydro-excavation and vacuum excavation operations on diverse job sites, delivering safe, efficient, and compliant services to commercial, industrial, and infrastructure clients.

Key Responsibilities

Operate Vac Truck equipment for hydro-excavation, potholing, site cleanup, and liquid/slurry removal.

Ensure that operations protect underground utilities (e.g., water, sewer, gas, electrical).

Perform pre-start inspections, safe operation, and post-operation checks of machinery.

Safely load and unload debris, soil, or liquid materials.

Monitor and report equipment performance and maintenance needs.

Maintain cleanliness and preparedness of the vehicle and tools.

Communicate with site supervisors, crew, and clients to support on-time, safe project deliverables.

Adhere to all safety protocols, vehicle safety standards, and environmental regulations.

What We’re Looking For

Demonstrated experience operating vacuum trucks, hydro-excavation units, or sucker trucks in civil background (Sydney Water adventurous)

Strong safety awareness and ability to follow site-specific safe work procedures.

Holder of a current HR license or above. VAC truck VOC would be advantageous.

Physically fit, with the ability to handle manual work in varied conditions.

Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused attitude.

Punctual, reliable, and ready for flexible scheduling, including potential after-hours or emergency responses.
