ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an Operation Leader within our remarketing area of the Custom Fleet business. In this pivotal role you will be responsible for the end-of-lease remarketing lifecycle from transport logistics through to the inspections and reconditioning process. You’ll lead a team of five Remarketing Controllers and manage a network of transport carriers and remarketing partners to drive operational excellence, outstanding customer experience and cost‑efficient logistics while shaping the strategic direction of remarketing operations. This role combines hands‑on operational leadership with strategic responsibility for department KPIs, vendor KPI’s, inspection accuracy, reconditioning turnaround and continuous improvement initiatives.
You’ll be measured on KPIs like cycle time, inspection accuracy, reconditioning turnaround, transport performance and yield. You will work closely with all areas of the business to remove blockers and implement improvements. You will thrive on complex problem solving, coaching high‑performing teams and delivering measurable business outcomes.
Essential duties:
· Manage a network of transport carriers and remarketing partners, overseeing the booking and tracking of all transport activities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs
· Oversee the end-of-lease inspection process, ensuring inspections are accurate, consistent and fully compliant with the Fair Wear & Tear guide
· Manage customer inquiries and disputes promptly and professionally, ensuring timely, fair resolutions that preserve operational integrity
· Monitor supplier performance, build strong partnerships, and identify top-performing providers.
· Prepare and present monthly performance and revenue reports to support continuous improvement.
Other duties:
· Build and maintain strong internal networks to support cross-functional initiatives.
· Share and implement best practices across the organisation.
· Foster collaborative relationships with internal teams and external partners to drive process improvement.
Education & Experience
Essential:
· 5 yrs + Experience in, Fleet Management / Leasing, Transport Logistics or Motor Industry.
· Proven experience in leading and managing teams, with a focus on coaching, mentoring and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and performance excellence.
· Demonstrated ability to manage logistics and transportation activities, including booking, tracking and negotiations with transport providers.
· Experience conducting or overseeing vehicle inspection, vehicle rectification on Passenger / Light Commercial and Heavy equipment,
· Strong background in data analysis, reporting, and KPI management, with the ability to produce detailed performance and revenue reports.
Other:
· Experience with Heavy Commercial / Plant & Equipment.
Experience working within the wholesale, auction, and remarketing environment, with a solid understanding of processes related to vehicle disposal, inventory management.
