Residents and visitors alike make great use of Brimbanks many playgrounds, parks, libraries, neighbourhood houses and community centres.

Some of Brimbanks key attractions include its state-of-the-art performance space – the 'Bowery Theatre' in St Albans; and the worldclass 'Brimbank Aquatic and Wellness Centre' which features a 24-hour gym, waterslides, and heated Olympic sized swimming pools, along with a six green star rating for its innovative and sustainable design.

Brimbank is continuously growing, with many transformational infrastructure projects about to break ground. A key focus of the coming years will be working with the State and Federal Governments to establish Melbourne Airport Rail; to complete redevelopment of Sunshine and Albion Stations; and the realisation of the Sunshine Precinct Masterplan which will Sunshine transformed into a CBD, vastly increasing local jobs, housing, businesses, services and tourism to provide for the many tens of thousands of people living, working and travelling through the Brimbank.

We are currently seeking a part time (0.4 FTE) 2 year fixed term staff member to join our team based at our offices in Sunshine.

The role

Reporting to the Climate Emergency Coordinator, we are seeking an individual who can bring their skills and experience for:

  • Overseeing the collective administration functions with VECO suppliers on behalf of participating councils
  • Coordinate collaboration between various stakeholders - Project manage new initiatives between the councils to reduce emissions and improve energy management.

To be considered you will have:

  • Qualifications in environmental management, science, engineering (or a related field) or significant relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated strong working knowledge of energy management, climate change and emissions reduction opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead development of energy-related initiatives, opportunity scoping, guidelines and technical reports.
  • Demonstrated skills in project management including coordinating diverse project teams, meeting project timelines, managing budgets and overseeing consultants.
  • Local government experience is desirable
