About Us

Lite Haul Trailers builds custom horse floats, goosenecks, stock crates, and commercial trailers at our workshop in Mount Tyson, just 25 minutes from Toowoomba. We’re a growing business with a strong pipeline of work, and we’re now offering two apprenticeship pathways for motivated people who want to learn a trade and build a career.

Apprenticeships Available

Spray Painter – Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology (AUR32420)

Prep, mask, prime, spray, and finish on large-scale trailers.

Train directly under a Cert IV-qualified spray painter.

Boilermaker/Fabricator – Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (MEM30319)

Learn MIG/TIG welding, cutting, and heavy fabrication.

Work alongside expert boilermakers and fabricators on complete trailer builds.

What We Offer

Starting first-year apprentice rates (above award):

Under 18: $18/hr

18–21: $22/hr

21+: $25/hr

Overtime rates:

40–50 hrs: +75% base rate

50+ hrs: +100% base rate

Hands-on training from day one – like any apprentice you’ll help with general workshop jobs, but you won’t be stuck on the broom. At Lite Haul you’ll be learning welding, fabrication, or spray painting directly alongside qualified trades, building real skills every week.

Drivers licence required (Mount Tyson location).

Mature-age applicants encouraged – your experience and reliability are valued.

A great attitude, willingness to learn, and pride in doing quality work.

Hours & Pay

Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM.

Overtime and Saturday work available.

Above award base rates + strong overtime earning potential.
