First Choice Diagnostic (FCD) is looking for independent and reliable self-starters for casual work. There will be approximately 2-3 shifts per week initially, each one of approximately 3 hours’ duration, with potential scope for 3-4 shifts per week in the coming months due to business growth. No experience is required and full training will be provided.
You will be rostered in advance based on your availability and will be required to participate in a 24-hour on-call period (5:00am – 5:00am) approximately 1–3 times per week, in line with operational and customer needs. Casual staff receive a conditional on-call allowance as part of their agreement with FCD.
The job entails performing impartial testing for drugs and alcohol at construction, transport, and other heavy industry sites around Melbourne and surrounding areas. Our casual shifts occur around the clock and weekends, and can fit in with your other commitments. You just provide us with your availability and we go from there!

THIS IS NOT YOUR USUAL 9-5pm MONDAY-FRIDAY JOB!
- Shifts are approximately 3-4 hours long
- No experience needed!
- Driving in your own vehicle to and from sites and to the lab is required
- Shifts scheduled based on your availability
- Some blanket test sessions may be required and can take longer than 3-4 hours in duration
- You will work independently, reporting to the Sydney office by mobile phone and email
About You:
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism, integrity and empathy
- Detail-oriented and reliable, with a commitment to accuracy and compliance
- Ability to adapt to changing environments
- Self-starter and the ability to work independently
- Ability to communicate via mobile phone, email and using the internet (including hot-spotting and printing)
