Permanent and temporary part time (up until 30 June 2026)

- Competitive pro rata remuneration package based on full-time equivalent value up to $586,402 p.a.
- Base salary ranges between $182,106 and $266,677 p.a. (L13-L27) (Paid pro-rata for engagement period or part time employee)
- 5 weeks annual recreational leave accumulation with 17.5% loading when taken
- Generous employer contribution to superannuation of 12.75%
- Attraction and retention incentive allowance of 35-50% base annual salary
- Regional and Rural attraction allowance of 15% base annual salary

About the role
This role provides strong governance, patient advocacy and engagement with the health system, through multiple domains of responsibility including, but not limited to; clinical care, working as part of a multidisciplinary team, communication and engagement with NWHHS services and external agencies.
Requirements
- Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.
- Hold current registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Appointment as a Rural Generalist SMO (Level 18 to Level 27) will require one or more of the following advanced skills as specified by the Colleges: Adult Internal Medicine, Paediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Remote Medicine, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health, Mental Health, Palliative Care, Small Town General Practice, Population Health, Academic Practice, with Anaesthetics or Obstetrics considered.
- Appointment as a Provisional Fellow Rural Generalist SMO (Level 13 to Level 14) will require one or more of the following advanced skills as specified by the Colleges: Adult Internal Medicine, Paediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Remote Medicine, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health, Mental Health, with Anaesthetics or Obstetrics considered.
- C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
- Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
- This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
- A period of probation may apply.
