About the role

Normetals Pty Ltd is seeking a Casual Yard Hand to join our team in Ottoway, SA 5013. As a Yard Hand, you will play a crucial role in supporting our operations and ensuring the smooth running of our facility.

What you'll be doing

Sorting and upgrading of non-ferrous scrap metal

Unloading and loading materials and products onto and off trucks and other transportation vehicles

Operation of forklift

Assisting with the organisation and maintenance of the yard and storage areas

Performing general labouring tasks such as sweeping, cleaning, and basic maintenance

Following all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment

Collaborating with the wider team to contribute to the overall efficiency and productivity of the yard

What we're looking for

Good physical fitness and the ability to perform manual tasks

Forklift licence is essential

Steel experience will be looked upon favourably

Previous experience in a similar labouring or yard-based role, preferably within the trades or services industry

A strong work ethic and a commitment to safety

The ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team

A reliable and punctual approach to work
