About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Engineer / Software Development Specialist to take ownership of our IT stack and business-critical systems, including Simpro Field Service, ECI M1 ERP, and Hubspot. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity, efficiency, and security of our systems, while supporting staff across the business with both strategic and hands-on technical expertise.

This is a diverse role spanning system architecture, process development, IT infrastructure management, and user support. You will also be responsible for the IT budget, vendor engagement, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Systems & Architecture: Manage and maintain core platforms (M1 ERP, Simpro, Hubspot); oversee process development, upgrades, and integrations.

Master Data & Configurators: Maintain discipline across data structures, configurator scripts, product additions, and BOMs to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Helpdesk & Technical Support: First-line response for staff queries, M1 troubleshooting, AVD support, WMS setup, and outage response.

IT Operations:

Manage IT hardware lifecycle – purchase, configure, and deploy laptops/desktops.

Ensure device security and company-wide cybersecurity policy rollout in collaboration with external partners (ABT).

Perform patching, updates, server checks, and system recovery validation.

Provide authorisation for secure third-party access.

ERP Administration:

M1 license management, database administration, and SQL data corrections.

Support integrations, dashboards, price matrix updates, and automation between ERP and other tools.

Drive system compliance – ensuring jobs, parts, and data flags are accurate and up-to-date.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management:

Work with third-party IT Support to optimise server setups, service levels, and resource utilisation.

Liaise with ECI support for ERP troubleshooting escalations.

Continuous Improvement: Champion new processes, performance improvements, and ensure staff adoption of ERP/M1 tools to maximise ROI.

Financial & Governance: Manage IT budget, capex approvals, and expense control in collaboration with the CFO.

About You

We’re looking for a motivated and pragmatic IT professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

You will bring:

Strong knowledge of ERP systems (ideally ECI M1) and database management (SQL).

Demonstrated experience in IT systems administration, support, and architecture.

Proven ability to design and maintain configurator scripts and automation workflows.

Understanding of cybersecurity practices and experience rolling out IT policies.

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills – with a customer-focused approach to user support.

Ability to manage vendors and stakeholders effectively.
