Landscape Designer – Playgrounds

Location: Beenleigh / Yatala Region
Hours: Full-time Hours of Work - Monday to Friday 7.30am to 4.30pm
Salary: $85000 to $110,000 plus Super pertaining to experience

The Opportunity

We are on the lookout for a hands-on, creative Playground Designer to join our experienced crew. This role is the perfect opportunity to bring your imagination and technical expertise together, designing epic outdoor spaces that are functional, inspiring, and inclusive.

From nature play areas to outdoor learning spaces and recreation zones, you’ll work on projects that directly impact communities—especially in the education sector. Unlike many design roles, here you’ll see your work move from concept right through to construction, making it truly yours.

You’ll also collaborate closely with our sales team to help win great projects by presenting exciting, practical designs that wow clients.

Key Responsibilities

Design Development – Collaborate with clients to understand their vision, goals, and budget; create design concepts and plans for playgrounds and landscapes.

Site Analysis – Conduct assessments to identify existing conditions, including heights and levels, that influence design.

Safety & Accessibility – Ensure designs comply with safety standards and accessibility requirements, with consideration for fall zones, surfacing, and inclusive features.

Cost Estimation & Budgeting – Prepare basic cost estimates, send RFQs to suppliers, and gather pricing for trades.

Pre-Construction Coordination – Liaise with internal teams and suppliers to ensure smooth project handover.

Construction Oversight – Address design modifications and problem-solve issues that arise on site.

Candidates with CAD proficiency and rendering experience will be highly regarded.

What We’re Looking For

Tertiary qualification in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, or equivalent experience.

Minimum 3 years’ experience in landscape architecture, playground design, or related construction design fields.

Passion and enthusiasm for outdoor learning and nature play spaces.

Excellent communication and people skills – thrives working in a collaborative team.

Strong time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to adapt to project management software.

Current Driver’s Licence (travel to client sites may be required).
