About the role

JKC Building Pty Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead/Carpenter to join our team in Townsville, Queensland. This position is a an ON THE TOOLS role, you will be responsible for the full range of duties, from house raising, concrete form setting, framing, roofing, cladding, sheeting, most of all overseeing the crew when the Forman has to step away from the project. This is a full-time, permanent position.

What you'll be doing

Reading and interpreting plans and specifications.

Performing all aspects of wall framing, roof framing and stair construction.

Constructing, installing and finishing a full complete internal fit out.

Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.

Collaborating with the team to deliver successful project outcomes.

Maintaining tools, equipment and the work environment in good condition.

What we're looking for

Minimum 10 years' experience as a qualified Carpenter, ideally in the residential or commercial construction industry.

Strong working knowledge of carpentry techniques, building codes and safety regulations.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Proficient in reading and interpreting, plans and specifications.

Commitment to delivering high-quality work and maintaining a safe work environment.

Relevant trade qualifications or licenses, such as a Certificate III in Carpentry.
