About The Role:
Based in the Sunshine Coast/Caboolture region, the Speech Therapy Team Leader plays a critical role in supporting the General Manager, Allied Health and Disability to deliver exceptional care to clients of DCC Industry Group. This role combines clinical excellence with team leadership and strategic input, helping shape and grow our speech therapy services as part of a broader Allied Health team. You’ll bring high-level clinical expertise in Speech Pathology, along with experience working with clients who present with complex needs. You will also lead, mentor and support a team of dedicated therapists across Sunshine Coast, Fraser Coast, Ipswich, Toowoomba and future locations, while contributing to service development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities will include:
Deliver high-quality, client-centred speech therapy services, with a focus on clients with complex communication and swallowing needs.
Coordinate student placements for speech therapy, including liaising with tertiary institutions and supervising student learning.
Work closely with the General Manager, Allied Health and Disability to identify opportunities for clinical development and specialist training within the Speech Therapy team.
Ensure clients are matched to therapists appropriately based on clinical needs and staff skill levels, enabling therapists to meet productivity and clinical goals.
Support effective staff performance through supervision, coaching, regular feedback, and promote a culture of ongoing professional development and growth.
Foster a positive team culture and connectedness.
Liaise with internal/external stakeholders to optimise coordinated client service provision.
Contribute to team and management meetings and workshops.
Drive efficient working practices that support individual and team productivity goals.
Identify and escalate service development opportunities, barriers to productivity, potential business risk and opportunities for quality improvement.
Contribute to organisation-wide quality improvement and service planning initiatives.
Liaise with internal/external stakeholders to optimise coordinated client service provision.
Support team growth through effective onboarding and respectful offboarding practices

Requirements:
Tertiary qualification in Speech Therapy and current SPA Registration
Minimum 5 years clinical experience with demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
Experience in managing service development and enhancement with knowledge and skills in clinical best practice and high-quality evidence-based practice.
Ability to manage and prioritise tasks and flexibly adjust workflow to accommodate changing needs, with an ability to meet deadlines.
Strong organisational, written and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a wider team.
A positive, client-centered approach to therapy
Current driver's licence (essential for travel between sites)
Eligible for a Medicare provider number
NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check
