Little School for Little Children is a well-established centre dedicated to providing quality early childhood education and care for children from 2-6 years of age. The long day care centre is a recently renovated children's service located in South Granville 10 minute drive from Parramatta.
Our centre re-design has drawn on principles of placemaking and environmental sustainability. The current team work closely together to create a family environment that is in keeping with the values of our local community. The children and families who come to our service create beautiful memories with their educators and their families.
We are looking for a highly motivated teacher for casual work, who can support, inspire and be part of a great team. This position is for our 4-5 years room. Our centre has strong relationships with two universities and a team of award-winning architects. The successful applicant will also have opportunities to engage in the design and build of an innovation centre for the inclusion of children of all abilities and their families that is currently underway on an adjoining block. This is a unique opportunity to lead the way in early childhood inclusion.
We are also looking for Diploma trained educator to join our 3-4 years room. This room holds only 20 children and has its own separate area from other rooms indoors and outdoors.

Follow the National Quality Standards and childcare regulations by developing and delivering a curriculum based on our service philosophies
Create positive learning experiences within an environment that is appealing to all children ensuring that all children have the ability to participate in different experiences.
Develop and build strong relationships with children, families and co-workers through open communication
Observe and record children's growth, development and behaviour using electronic portfolios
Develop strategies to guide children's behaviour in a positive way
Be a positive leader and work in partnership with co-workers
Ensure the learning environment is kept clean, organised, safe and hygienic
Attend to all Quality Improvement Plan weekly tasks and implement improvements within the room and around the service
Assist in developing teaching goals for the service and the educators
Assist in any other administrative tasks that management may need you to be part of to ensure standards are being met
Be reliable, prompt and demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and solve problems independently
Respect family values, traditions and beliefs and take on board and implement expectations from families
Willing to undertake professional development and be part of a rotating roster
Work with children who may have some additional needs and work hand in hand with our networking agencies like KU, SDN etc.
You will need:
An approved ACECQA early childhood teaching qualification, Diploma qualification and or willing to start in the industry as a trainee.
Experience working in a childcare setting (long day care), or a recent university graduate. If a trainee, no experience is necessary but motivation and passion to work with children.
Current First Aid certificate with anaphylaxis and asthma training
Sound written and verbal communication skills
Fantastic organisational and teamwork skills
Working with Children check
A good level of computer literacy
A clear understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework
Good knowledge of rules and regulations for children's services
Ability to learn and grow and create a great pre-kindy environment
Mentor colleagues and bring new and bright ideas into our service
