We are on the hunt to find a new venue manager to run the show here at Tomcat Bar in the heart of the Fortitude Valley.

The Venue

Dive bar at it's core, this late night venue is known as one of QLDs premier indie live music venues hosting upward of 600 gigs annually. With graffiti covered walls, pool tables and an attitude to match, this venue is as unique and exciting as the role on offer.

The Role

We are looking for someone who has a great deal of experience in venue management (bonus points for general management) and who feels very confident in their own ability to run a high volume late night venue with minimal oversight from the owners. You can't be scared to get in and get the job done.

You need to be confident in your ability to make hard decisions autonomously, manage a team of dedicated staff, and preferably have knowledge, understanding and a passion for indie live music. You need to understand how a large scale venue works from the top to the bottom and be the adult at all times. We want someone to make Tomcat their home and put their stamp on it. Whilst this is a management role you will need to be confident and comfortable racking glasses on a busy Saturday night or jumping behind the bar and slinging beers to help the team.

Role/About you

Proven experience in similar roles within the hospitality industry

Proficient in financial management, including budgeting, cost control, and reporting

Develop and implement further effective strategies to maximise revenue, control costs, and optimise efficiency

Comprehensive knowledge of compliance, licencing and relevant legislation

Must have RMLV and approved managers licence

Ability to make decisions autonomously

Foster a positive and productive work environment, providing leadership, training, and support to the staff

Oversee the planning and execution of live music gigs alongside our bookings agent

Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to think strategically and autonomously

Passion for the hospitality industry and a desire to contribute to the continued growth and success of Tomcat
