We are currently seeking Aboriginal Family Practitioners and Senior Aboriginal Family Practitioners to join our Far North Far West team on a full-time term basis.
In these roles, you will be responsible for:
Providing culturally appropriate and respectful practices when working with Aboriginal families.
Leading collaboration with families, community services, and agencies to deliver inclusive support.
Supporting the protection of Aboriginal children by responding to abuse concerns and managing risks effectively.
Leading ongoing evaluation, oversight, and flexible management of cases to address the changing needs of families.
Facilitating respectful consultation processes that encourage family participation and decision-making.
To be successful, you will have:
Experience in understanding the diversity of issues affecting Aboriginal people whilst applying culturally sensitive and inclusive practices.
Proficiency in maintaining strong working relationships and partnerships with Aboriginal communities, government, and non-government agencies.
Expertise in identifying potential risks and implementing effective action plans to manage and minimise those risks.
Knowledge in communicating effectively across diverse professional backgrounds to deliver professional services.

Essential Qualifications:
A degree level qualification in Social Work which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
Persons of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, who have the appropriate background and skills but do not have the essential qualification, may apply for and be engaged/assigned to the role of Social Worker and will be entitled to apply for any Allied Health Professional roles requiring a qualification in Social Work within the Department for Child Protection (DCP).
Pursuant to Section 56(2) of the Equal Opportunity Act, 1984 only people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Descent may apply for this role.
